‘It’s a Beautiful Day’ choir performance

Choir performance and kungfu fighting to celebrate childhood and the beauty of outdoors.

The choir song It's a Beautiful Day celebrates childhood and the beauty of the outdoors. Kungfu Fighting dance/exercise routine is a reflection of our goals to stay fit and healthy.

These two performances reflect the theme of Beyond the Classroom: Take Learning Outdoors through a celebration of childhood, a healthy lifestyle and outdoor learning.

My First Skool at Blk 306A Punggol Place

Together with their teachers, the children will perform an original rhythmic piece with their music instruments to discover the different sounds of nature.

Children experiment, explore and discover different sounds from each instrument (representing nature e.g. ‘drizzling’, ‘thunder storm’, ‘strong wind howling’) with the teachers as facilitators. They play the beat, feel the rhythm, experience unity and celebrate life with the music instruments, thus bringing out the artistry in our young ones.

Little Paddington (Turf Club)

A skit based on Michael Rosen’s ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’

We're Going on a Bear Hunt is a popular award-winning children's book written in 1989 by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury. The book tells of some children going on a bear hunt. The story talks of their determination as they overcome all types of obstacles to complete their quest.

Ascension Kindergarten

Fun with umbrella/Parachute, off we go!/It’s so fun to dance

A lively and interpretive dance and instrumental piece, using everyday household items, such as metal tins, plastic pails and keys.

Fun with umbrella

The children use umbrellas to create a soundscape of a day out in the rain. They show the pattern of the melody, make puddles to dance in and around, all accompanied with a simple dance arrangement.

Parachute, off we go!

The children have a whale of fun exercising their muscles while developing team-building skills in this parachute game.

It's so fun to dance

The children learn music behaviour by being actively involved in music through playing, singing, moving, creating and performing. In this energetic performance, the children showcase music exclusively invented and danced by them.

Kinderland (Yio Chu Kang)

Stage Ensemble

Children will perform a medley on “Never Enough” & “This is Me” from the movie “The Greatest Showman”.

A music-infused curriculum enhances language literacy in young children. The use of keyboard, percussion instruments, solfege singing and rhythm training provide crucial support for brain development in the child’s early years. In 2017, Kinderland (Yio Chu Kang) introduced the Stage Ensemble to benefit more children in our network.

Healthy Start Child Development Centre

Ukulele Joy

Join us as the children from Healthy Start Child Development Centre perform a medley of popular tunes with their ukuleles, “You are my Sunshine”, “Rasa Sayang”, and a separate piece on 'Que Sera Sera'.

The 5 and 6-year-old children from the centre have been learning to play ukulele between 1 to 2 years for their music lesson in school. It will be their first time performing at the Early Childhood Conference and they are looking forward to spread the ukulele joy with everyone!

My First Skool at Blk 111 McNair Road

Better Environment, Better Tomorrow

A dance item on caring for the environment during their outdoor play, with elements of outdoor music.

The children aim to raise awareness and importance of respecting and doing our part for the environment. Let’s work together to take care of our environment for a better future!

Malay Folk Dance: Bawang Putih & Bawang Merah

A blend of culture and values, this performing arts item presents the importance of being truthful and cherishing kinship through intricate, graceful hand movements. It also incorporates rhythms of Malay dance such as Inang and Joget.

This is part of the centre’s Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project, #Colourful Cultures @ Mac, an eight-month project (January to September 2019) that exposes children to the various aspects that encompass cultural diversity in Singapore and deepens their understanding of local Singapore cultures. Through this project, children will translate information about the different cultures that has been shared into craft work, recipes and performances.
